Things to Do at the Gardens
- Go for a walk. There are maps at each entrance, or visitor guides are available at the Visitor Centre. The Gardens also has a number of self-guided tour brochures available - ask at the Visitor Centre or click here.
- Join a Guided Tour. Our knowledgeable guides offer tours that will bring the gardens to life for you - ask at the Visitor Centre for details or click here.
- Enjoy a picnic, coffee, ice cream, snack or meal at the Botanical Gardens Restaurant or the Kiosk.
- Indulge your passion for photography (conditions apply for commercial and wedding photography - click here for details).
- Find out about a wide range of gardening and botanical subjects through our displays, interpretations and fact sheets.
To ensure the Gardens is a pleasant place for all, please don't
- Ride bicycles, skateboards, scooters or roller blades (wheelchairs excepted)
- Play ball games of any sort
- Litter - please put your rubbish into the bins
- Climb or swing on trees
- Walk on garden beds
- Pick flowers or take cuttings
- Light fires (including gas barbecues)
- Make excessive noise or disrupt the tranquillity of the Gardens.
Pets (other than guide dogs in harness) are not permitted in the Gardens.
Children must be supervised at all times.
All visitors and activities within the Gardens are subject to and must comply with the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Act 2002.
