  • It is a pleasant walk from the City, across the Queens Domain.
  • A cycling track runs from the Cenotaph along the river past the Gardens.
  • For drivers, parking is available at both entrances to the Gardens.
  • Unfortunately the Metro bus service no longer operates to the Gardens, for information on alternative routes call the Metro hotline on 132201.
  • Various local private bus and tour services visit attractions around Hobart, including the Gardens. Contact the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre on 03 6230 8233 or call in to the Centre on the corner of Davey & Elizabeth Streets, Hobart, for information.
  • Ferry cruises operate to the Gardens from Brooke Street Pier on the Hobart waterfront by Derwent River Cruises. Now you can combine a trip to the gardens with a short harbour cruise from the centre of Hobart on board the luxurious high speed catamaran Excella.

Be at the gates in just 15 minutes having enjoyed wonderful vistas of the river, a trip under the Tasmania bridge and interesting commentary.
