New Publications
For the Discerning Coffee Table Enthusiast
To compliment the recently released Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens "Visitors Guide", the Gardens are unveiling two spectacular new publications, "People, Places and Plant" and the visually engaging "Seasons of Colour".
"People, Places and Plants" is an exploration of how plants supplied by the Botanical Gardens to public and private gardens across Tasmania over the last 190 years has shaped our landscape. This significant contribution since colonial times has helped create a "sense of place" for important Tasmanian locations including Port Arthur, Franklin Square, Cataract Gorge and many other sites across Tasmania.
"Season of Colour" is a celebration of the changing face of the Gardens throughout the year. This book uses magnificent imagery to reflect the unique appeal of individual seasons.
The complete trio of booklets gives the reader a holistic approach to many of the features within the Gardens and highlights its significant influence on both Tasmania's cultural and botanical development.
These booklets are an excellent photographic history of the Botanical Gardens and a fitting release prior to the Gardens 190th birthday celebrations in 2008.
