Grow a Brain at the Gardens!
The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens' popular hands-on,
curriculum based learning program, Grow a Brain, is back.
According to Gardens Education and Training Officer, Jean Gray, the best way for students to appreciate and understand plants is to experience them by sight, touch and smell at first hand.
She suggests that schools include an Autumn excursion to the wide open spaces of the Gardens so that students can learn about plant cycles and seed dispersal.
Participants will collect plant mementos as they wander with the Education Officer around the special corners and discover the curious features and designs of some remarkable plants.
