Governance
The RTBG is a state government statutory organisation, governed by the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Act 2002 and administered by the Department of Tourism, Arts and the Environment (DTAE).
A Board appointed by the Minister, manages the RTBG under the Act. These members include:
- Dr Tony Press (Chair)
- Mrs Honey Bacon (Member)
- Mr Scott Gadd (Member)
- Dr Gintaras Kantvilas (Member)
- Ms Nicky Reed (Member)
- Ald Peter Sexton (Member)
The current business model provides for an annual state government grant supporting about 80% of the RTBG's current total operating budget, with the other 20% of funds sourced from RTBG-generated activities.
